A Completely Normal Novel…Right?

Everybody poured out of the building to see what was the problem.

Suddenly, everybody froze.

"Hey, what's happening? Why are they all stopping?" Domfan cried out. "Let me see what's going on!"

"Here, let's push through," Sero said to Domfan.

The group soon pushed past everyone and made it to the front. They also froze as well the second they laid their eyes on the scene (this ain't red light green light for god's sake! Just move and don't stand there!).

This was because the scene in front of them was not a peaceful and bright day with the town not far off; instead what laid before them was a chaotic and dark day with the screams of many people in all corners.

"Oh dear, what has happened?" Amayako asked, an expression of shock and sickness quite clearly visible in her face (damn that sounds cringe).

"Come on! We gotta help!" Sero shouted to his group, shocking everyone. "We can't just stand here and do nothing!"

"Yeah, alright. Let's go everyone!" Alegriso shouted to everyone.

Suddenly, it seemed like everyone became unstuck and rushed towards the town to try help the people. As the entire guild was running, they could notice smoke coming from the town as they came closer. However, when they were going through the woods (why do these woods seem so familiar?), they noticed a whole bunch of bodies along the path. It had seemed like they have been stabbed through the back with a blade of some kind (yeah, I'm feeling deja vu). Sero was then reminded of a legend that was told by his father, however Sero could not believe that it was real. There just was no way that the story was real. However, this all seemed to align with the story…

Before Sero could organize his thoughts, he heard someone call out that they had reached the town.

"Looks like we're here," Domfan said to the others.

They all entered the town, only for them to be met with chaos. The houses were on fire, bodies were everywhere, and most importantly, there favorite inn was being destroyed.

"NOO, THE INN!" Alegriso cried, startling everyone (including me, like what was that outbreak).

Everyone looked up to see what had caused the damages to the town; what they saw was not an army from another kingdom invading them, but just a singular figure. No, not a figure, a damn dragon. The dragon was larger than the town square, so it had to land on a "couple" of buildings around the square.

The dragon itself was covered in pitch black scales with sharp teeth well over a foot in diameter and a meter in length (so proportional, I know) that were also in a pitch black color. It also had a massive wingspan, likely around 150 meters across, and looked like, well, wings. The dragon turned its gigantic head around and stared straight at them. The entire crowd of adventurers stared right back, not moving an inch. Then the dragon raised its huge claws and struck at them.

The screams and horror of many of the adventurers were evident as they tried to dodge the incoming attack. The ones that dodged just in time were saved from the brutal scene that was unfolding. The ones that didn't dodge in time, well, were reduced to mere piles of flesh, bones, equipment, and blood. Sero and the others were one of the lucky ones and managed to dodge, however could not prevent themselves from being dirtied by the remains of those that failed.

"HOLY SHIT WHAT IS THAT MONSTER?!" Domfan shouted in surprise and fear.

"THAT DOESN'T SEEM LIKE A NORMAL DRAGON!" Alegriso screamed, shock evident in his pale face.

"Wait, isn't that the mysterious dragon from a couple years ago that wiped out the capital city of another kingdom a couple years back?" Ellie asked, pale as well but surprisingly calm despite the chaos occurring around them (I do not know what to say anymore, these characters aren't human).

Then they suddenly heard loud sobbing sounds nearby. They quickly ran over to the location of the crying noises, as they realized the tiny person crying beside a body.

"Guys, I think Amayako is badly hurt," Fragmo told them, barely being able to get the words out of his mouth.

They looked over to Amayako, who looked like she was in severe pain. She had a limb severed and had a large gash across her chest.

"Damn it, I think that the dragon got her," Domfan said (well, no shit sherlock).

Suddenly, more screams were heard from the town square. As Sero and the others turned around, the dragon started to move and start to cause chaos, slashing at the building and shooting out what seems to be purple flames from its ginormous mouth. The remaining adventurers tried to attack the dragon but barely made a scratch on the durable scales of the dragon.

"Alegriso! Fragmo! Go bring Amayako to a safer place! Me, Domfan, and Ellie will try to help the other adventurers take down the dragon," Sero ordered the party.

"Alright," They all said unanimously.

So they split up, Alegriso and Fragmo carrying Amayako to a safer place while Sero and the rest tried to help take down the dragon.

When Sero, Domfan, and Eliie arrived, the battle was fierce, however it was quite one-sided. The dragon was massacring the adventurers left and right. This was likely due to how they had like no coordination when fighting, as sometimes they would get in the way of each others' attacks. This would often bring disputes among the combatants, as well they would get angry for the other being in the way and the other being angry at them for aiming at them. Because of this, Sero and the others had a hard time fighting the dragon while avoiding the incoming attacks from their side.

Suddenly, they noticed another huge figure approaching the town square. It was another dragon, however the one they were fighting seemed pissed at the one coming towards it. The dragon was the opposite of the black one, as it had white scales instead of black ones and instead of long sharp teeth, it had short ones. It was still the same size as the black one, being absurdly massive and having a large wingspan. The adventurers and the dragon stopped fighting, the adventurers looking at it in awe and fear, as they did not know if it was to help them or not.

Then they saw a bright white figure levitating in the skies, as if it was a holy figure. It had shining bright white armor with gold outlines (why does it seem like the average novel holy knight armor), and a humongous and lengthy spear with a golden spearhead. The entire thing contained a glowing gold aura, and the people on the ground could feel the powerful aura that this entity emitted.

Suddenly, it boomed, "Doomsain, God of Darkness and Death, are ordered to be slain in the name of the Heavens and the Father, whom has given you many chances to change for the better. However you have failed to meet his expectations, and therefore are required to be eradicated from this universe."
