A Certain Multiverse's Holy Right

Chapter 89: Today I Will Slay the Dragon and Snake!

"I am Athena, daughter of Zeus. Son of Fool who dares to covet the virgin goddess, taste despair and pain, and repent in the wilderness of underworld..."

In addition to the intoxicating aroma, Roy also tasted the icy chill of death itself.

Athena gently released her slender fingers, her enchanting lips leaving Roy's. Her gaze lingered on his face with faint regret as the light in his eyes faded, and his body fell stiffly to the ground.

Even with the Campione's formidable resistance to magic, a curse delivered directly into the body bypassed such defenses. This made even ordinary magic effective—let alone a curse cast by a goddess.

The concept of death swept through Roy's body like a frigid wave, pulling him into a vast Arctic abyss. His body and soul froze, and his thoughts began to dissipate. It was as though he had glimpsed the mythical underworld beneath the earth.

Just before Roy's consciousness completely succumbed to darkness, his rigid mind activated the fifth authority of his Holy Right, Isaac's Salvation.

This authority expelled all curses completely.

Bang!

Roy's left elbow drove into the snow, propping his body upright. His once-dim pupils regained their luster. Half-reclining on the ground, he locked eyes with the beautiful goddess looking down at him and sighed: "...Women truly have the most vicious hearts. A gentle kiss conceals the path to death. No wonder you, Athena, are one of Greece's famous virgin goddesses. With such cruelty and ruthlessness, which man or god would dare grow close to you?"

Seeing that Roy had survived her curse of death, Athena was not dismayed but delighted. Her holy and elegant face lit up with a radiant smile. Her gaze turned resolute and sharp as she spoke with vigor: "...Now this is the opponent I recognize as my equal. If you had died so easily, it would have been far too dull."

She raised her slender jade hand, and a pitch-black scythe materialized within it, a weapon embodying the true essence of death in Athena's trinity as a goddess.

As the scythe swung toward Roy's head, his expression shifted. A surge of tremendous divine power erupted from him. A deafening roar echoed across the Alpine summit. Under the terrifying shockwave, snow exploded into the sky, mountain rocks cracked inch by inch, and even the dark clouds above swirled violently.

Roy clenched his left fist, faint outlines of five rings appearing at the base of his fingers—an aftereffect of merging Solomon's spiritual foundation during the upgrade of The Hand of Jacob. Each time Roy invoked this authority, Solomon's Rings manifested upon his ten fingers.

However, these rings were not physical but symbolic manifestations of power. They did not represent Solomon's wisdom but rather the king's military might!

Roy threw a thunderous punch with his left hand, aiming directly for Athena's radiant and beautiful face. If it landed, even a goddess of unparalleled beauty would not escape disfigurement.

Seeing Roy's ruthlessness, Athena's expression turned cold. The scythe that had been slicing toward Roy's neck abruptly shifted to intercept his fist. Their divine power and authority clashed violently, creating an explosion that obliterated the mountaintop.

The recoil forced both Roy and Athena to grunt as they were flung into the air, each landing on separate snow-covered peaks. Athena steadied herself quickly and looked up, her amber eyes transforming fully into snake-like pupils—the infamous Mystic Eyes of Petrification of Medusa.

Not one to be outdone, Roy's double pupils contracted. He raised his gaze and unleashed the power of the Eyes of Sodom to confront Athena's Mystic Eyes of Petrification head-on. The collision of their two ultimate mystic eyes distorted the air and tore through the snow. Anyone caught in their line of sight would be obliterated instantly, reduced to nothing but shattered stone and salty residue.

Athena's voice rang out, resolute and reverent, as she began to chant:

"I sing, the hymn of the Triune Goddess, connecting the sky, the earth, and the darkness, for reincarnation and wisdom!

"I sing, the lament of the scorned goddess, a queen condemned as the forbidden serpent, for this is the sigh of the queen!

"I sing, the ballad of the goddess whose body and soul were torn asunder, imprisoned by her exalted father, for this is the humiliation of the loving mother!

"My name is Athena, daughter of Zeus, guardian of Athens, and eternal virgin!

"In the past, I was the Earth Mother who gave birth to all things. In the past, I was the Lord of the Underworld who ruled over darkness. In the past, I was the Queen of Wisdom who knew the secrets of the heavens. I am here now!"

Her words were a combination of incantation, hymn, prayer, and praise. As Athena's soft chanting resonated, her divine power surged to its peak.

The essence of earth, death, wisdom, and war surged within Athena's chest, exuding a terrifying pressure that made the heavens and earth tremble. The sheer might of her divine power rendered Roy's body stiff, a rare occurrence for him.

"As expected of the world's most renowned goddess. As expected of a Heretic God who has lived for millennia and once slew a God Slayer with her own hands!"

This was a true adversary, one that demanded every ounce of effort from any God Slayer who faced her.

"Roy Crowley, I told you that today I will kill you, and I never break my word!"

Boom! Boom! Boom!

The ground beneath them began to shake violently, as though struck by a magnitude-12 earthquake. The snow turned into a massive avalanche, engulfing the surrounding Alps. Animals screeched in terror, fleeing desperately. Beneath the cascading snow, exposed rocks cracked apart with an ear-splitting screech. From the shattered mountain emerged a giant serpent hundreds of meters long, its appearance reducing the entire peak to rubble.

Athena stood atop the serpent's head, a pitch-black sickle in her right hand. Her figure seemed to meld with the creature, transforming her into a monstrous being with the upper body of a human and the lower body of a snake.

"So this is the legendary monster Gorgon!"

Roy muttered as he gazed at the stunningly beautiful yet otherworldly snake-like goddess.

"Go forth, my fangs, my sharp teeth! Tear my nemesis asunder and swallow him whole. Let him become nourishment for the earth!"

At Athena's command, the giant serpent let out a roar reminiscent of a dragon's bellow, its massive jaws opening wide as it lunged toward Roy, scattering stones in its wake.

"Angels, sound the trumpets of doomsday!"

Roy's voice echoed with spiritual authority as he invoked Sound the Seventh Trumpet. Under the pitch-black sky, a holy radiance burst forth. Seven angelic figures manifested in the seven cardinal directions, their ethereal forms heralding the end of days. The gates of heaven opened wide, and hundreds of angels formed from divine light streamed out, aligning themselves in a battle formation.

"Let me show you how I have advanced my understanding of the Holy Right after fusing Solomon's spiritual foundation!"

Roy's grin was sharp and deadly. His Holy Right was originally divided into seven abilities, each so overwhelmingly powerful that severe restrictions were placed on them. However, the fusion of Solomon's spiritual base had initiated a transformation: the seven abilities were evolving into seven distinct authorities. When this evolution was complete, the limitations on the Holy Right would vanish entirely, allowing Roy to wield its powers freely, provided his divine power was sufficient.

"The shields that form the fortress bear the names of angels: Michael on the first, Gabriel on the second, Sariel on the third, Raphael on the fourth. The Lord of Hosts is the King of Glory; our God is the Lord of Hosts!"

The army of angels did not immediately charge. Instead, they began to coalesce under Roy's command. A burst of holy light dispelled the dark shroud of the underworld, erasing the suffocating deathly aura. Then, a towering angel over a hundred meters tall emerged, its fiery wings of light unfurled and a cross-shaped halo floating above its head. It was as if the Archangel Michael himself had descended.

Roy extended his right hand, summoning the Sword of Judgment, its crimson blade shimmering with deadly intent. The colossal angel mirrored him, materializing an equally enormous flaming sword capable of cleaving entire mountains. The fiery blade, hundreds of meters long, descended upon the Monster Gorgon with devastating force.

The scene was reminiscent of church frescoes depicting the heroic battle between Michael and the ancient dragon.

"Today, I will slay the dragon and snake here!"
