Chapter 960: Chapter 958: What did you say? You’re nervous?
Hearing Wen Xin say she was nervous, Yan Qing, who was drinking water, sprayed it out. He couldn’t believe it as he stared at Wen Xin. He had never heard that Wen Xin could be scared, and it surprised him that Wen Xin would admit she was nervous.
“Doll, are you sure you’re not joking? You’re saying you’re nervous? Stop kidding around…”
Yan Qing’s serious expression made Wen Xin laugh. She nodded her head, “Yes, I’m indeed a bit nervous, but it’s manageable. Go get ready. Ms. Yunxuan has sent me a message, I’ll give her a call back.”
Wen Xin didn’t wait for Yan Qing to reply and just hung up on his call. She picked up her phone to check the message from Ms. Yunxuan.
The message from Ms. Yunxuan was simple, just an address followed by a very brief message: “I’m at the Rhythm Bar. Do you want to come over and hang out?”
Wen Xin, feeling a bit fatigued, rubbed the bridge of her nose and glanced at the time before standing up and heading towards the walk-in closet.
Coming out of the walk-in closet, Wen Xin had changed into a very low-key black suit and left the room directly.
As Wen Xin walked out of her room, she happened to run into Xiao Mi, who had just come out from her room. Xiao Mi looked much better now. Wen Xin glanced at her and raised her eyebrows.
“How are you feeling? Is there still anything uncomfortable with your body?”
Xiao Mi, seeing Wen Xin dressed and ready to go out, shook her head, “I’m completely fine now; but this outfit of yours, are you planning to go out?”
Caught by Xiao Mi’s guess, Wen Xin just raised her eyebrows and smiled lightly, “I’m planning to go to the bar for fun. Do you want to come with me?”
The invitation from Wen Xin was irresistible to Xiao Mi. She immediately nodded her head, her eyes filled with a bit of anticipation.
“Then quickly go change. I’ll wait for you downstairs!”
When Wen Xin and Xiao Mi arrived at the bar, Xiao Mi was all excited. Wen Xin turned her head to look at Xiao Mi, her eyes full of indulgence.
“Have you never been to a place like this before?”
Wen Xin looked at Xiao Mi indulgently. She couldn’t quite understand why Xiao Mi was so excited—aside from Ms. Yunxuan liking it, Wen Xin also felt the bar wasn’t that interesting.
“It’s my first time at a place like this. I rarely drink and the places I visit are usually quite chaotic, they don’t have this kind of stuff…”
Xiao Mi, unable to wait any longer, grabbed Wen Xin’s hand and headed into the bar.
As they entered the bar, Wen Xin saw Ms. Yunxuan in the most conspicuous spot. Sure enough, Ms. Yunxuan was as flamboyant as ever, her personality unchanged.
Wen Xin, holding Xiao Mi’s hand, led her toward Ms. Yunxuan.
As Wen Xin approached, Ms. Yunxuan noticed her. She gave Wen Xin a gentle smile and handed her the beer she was holding.
Wen Xin took the beer and sat down beside Ms. Yunxuan. She casually picked up a cardboard coaster from the table and effortlessly flipped off the bottle cap, her movements as smooth as ever.
Ms. Yunxuan watched Wen Xin’s actions, smiled very satisfied, slowly leaned in, wrapped her arm around Wen Xin’s shoulder, and rested on her.
“Little lady, I missed you so much, I knew you were busy here so I ran over to help. I didn’t expect you, this ungrateful girl, to forget about me coming back. That’s really too much,” she said.
Faced with Ms. Yunxuan’s reproach, Wen Xin just gave a faint smile and picked up the wine bottle, gently clinking it against Ms. Yunxuan’s.
“I was really too busy. The Mu family suddenly had an issue, and Mu Chengxi wasn’t in the country, so I got caught up dealing with that. I’m truly sorry for forgetting you for a moment,” she said.
Ms. Yunxuan completely accepted Wen Xin’s explanation. She clinked her bottle against Wen Xin’s and casually brushed back a lock of hair.
“I know you’re busy. I saw the news this afternoon. Still, I have to thank you. Three years of effort wasn’t wasted after all. It’s just that some people might not have seen their projects disappearing right when they were about to succeed.”
Listening to Ms. Yunxuan’s teasing, Wen Xin smiled lightly. When she had taken over the project, Barry had already shown strong resistance, but in Wen Xin’s eyes, Mu Chengxi’s interests were above her own, so she didn’t care at all.
“You’ve just recovered, so it’s best not to drink too much. If you’re happy, then we can head home!”
Wen Xin put down her bottle and gently patted Ms. Yunxuan on the shoulder, smiling at her.
Having spent too much time in the hospital, Ms. Yunxuan was reluctant to leave the bar now that she was finally here. She shook her head at Wen Xin, holding her bottle.
“No, I finally survived, and I must enjoy myself enough before going home. I’ve come to understand one thing: you never know if tomorrow or an accident will come first, so having fun is what matters most!”
Ms. Yunxuan said as she stood up, only then noticing Xiao Mi next to Wen Xin. She pointed at Xiao Mi, raising an eyebrow at her.
“Little lady, your sister doesn’t like loud places, but I think you’d enjoy them. Let’s have some fun together!”
Ms. Yunxuan didn’t give Xiao Mi a chance to react, and immediately dragged her toward the center of the dance floor…
By the time Ms. Yunxuan and Xiao Mi finally headed home, it was already early morning. Wen Xin rubbed her somewhat sore shoulders, squinting her eyes at the delighted Ms. Yunxuan and Xiao Mi.
“Let’s go, can we go home now?”
“Of course, we can go home now.” Knowing that Wen Xin was running out of patience, Ms. Yunxuan didn’t dare to haggle any longer. She didn’t want to wait until Wen Xin could no longer bear it and ended up dealing with them.
When they left the bar, it was already seven in the morning. Ms. Yunxuan, with Xiao Mi, insisted on having breakfast. Wen Xin, looking ahead at the two unsteady figures, furrowed her brows tightly, her eyes filled with disdain, but still followed the two toward a breakfast shop.
Entering the breakfast shop, Wen Xin spotted a familiar figure. Her eyes flashed with curiosity, but the person packing the buns didn’t seem to notice Wen Xin and hastily left.
Wen Xin watched the retreating figure, her eyes flashing with a cold tone, still pondering why that person would appear here.
Xiao Mi turned and saw Wen Xin standing still. She raised her hand and waved, “Sis, do you want wontons or fried liver? Ms. Yunxuan mentioned you don’t like too salty food.”
Xiao Mi had spent the entire night with Ms. Yunxuan, so their relationship had improved dramatically, leading to a deep understanding of each other.
They appeared very close, like friends who had known each other for a long time.
